16 Days western Kenya budget safari is a safari that gives you the opportunity to visit most of the parks in western on a friendly budget. Western Kenya is known for the most national parks, reserves and museums. In this safari you shall be able to view different kinds of animals, birds and you shall learn culture of different tribes in Kenya.
Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai mara
You shall be picked at the location of your choice by our driver who will take you to Maasai Mara. You shall stopover at a view point where you shall be able to view the Great Rift Valley ad you shall continue with your journey where you shall arrive at Maasai Mara in the late evening. You shall go in the camp and relax as you with for dinner and overnight since you cannot go for the game drive as it will be late
Day 2: Maasai mara full day
You shall go for the morning game rive where if lucky you shall view the lions catching food for them. You shall see other animals like monkeys, elephants and many more before embarking in the camp for breakfast. You shall go for another game drive where you shall view different types of birds before taking your lunch. You shall embark in the park for mor game drives and game wacthing as you take photos. Dinner and overnight shall be in the camp
Day 3: Maasai mara full day
You shall go for the first game drive having taken your breakfast and you shall visit the Maasai people to learn the Maasai culture before going for your lunch. I f you shall be lucky to have the safari during the time the wildebeest migrates from Maasai mara to Serengeti forest, you shall go to view as they cross the lake. The wildebeest migrate between the 8th and 9th month of the year. Your dinner and overnight shall be in the camp.
Day 4: Maasai mara to Mount Elgon
You shall go for the morning game drive before taking your breakfast and you shall embark in the camp for breakfast and preparation to leave for Mount Elgon. Mount Elgon is 8hrs drive from Maasai mara; you shall arrive at night in the camps in Mount Elgon. Mount Elgon is a mountain also known as the untamed wilderness. The mountain is ideal for various activities and is a home of different kinds of animals and birds. You shall rest and wait for the next day to begin the game drive.
Day 5: Mount Elgon full day
You shall go for the morning game drive before taking your breakfast. You shall be able to see animals like the elephants and buffalos. You shall later embark for breakfast. After breakfast, you shall go for game watching. you shall view antelopes, different kinds of monkeys and other animals. You shall have your lunch and you shall go for picnic. Overnight and dinner shall be in the camp.
Day 6: Mount Elgon full day
You shall have your breakfast before going for any activity. You shall start with mountain climbing where you will enjoy yourself in climbing and you shall be able to view animals from the mountain. You shall go for lunch where after you shall go for rock climbing. You shall view the forest from the rocks and you shall take photographs also. You shall go for scenic before going for your dinner and overnight in the camp.
Day 7 Mount Elgon to Kakamega forest
You shall go for the morning game drive after taking your breakfast. You shall prepare yourselves as you shall be visit the Kakamega forest on the same day. Kakamega forest is known as the canopy of natural beauty due to its nature. You shall arrive in the forest where you shall rlax as you take your lunch and later you shall go for the first game drive. You shall be able to view differet mammals like the bush pig, giat forest hedgehogs, and different types of the colombus monkeys. Dinner and overnight shall be in the camp.
Day 8: Kakamega forest to kitale museum
You shall go for the bird viewing where you shall see over 100 different types of birds including the parrots, black turacco, blue headed bee eater and many more. You shall embark in the camp for breakfast as you prepare to leave for Kitale museum. Since you shall arrive late you shall have your dinner and overnight as you relax in the lodge.
Day 9: Kitale museum full day
In this museum you shall earn about different cultures as the museum has a collection of traditions and cultures from the luhyas, Maasai and the turkana. The luhya, Maasai and Turkana are tribes from Kenya that have got the most strict and funny cultures. You shall be able to be entertained by them and you shall learn about the tribes.
Day 10 kitale museum to saiwa swamp park
You shall have your breakfast and you shall prepare to leave for saiwa swamp. Since saiwa swamp is far from kitale museum you shall arrive in the late hours where you shall rest and you shall go to visit the swamp the next day early in the morning.
Day 11: saiwa swamp full day
Saiwa swamp is also known as the Sanctuary of the Sitatunga antelope. It is the smallest park in Kenya with a very unique variety of antelope known as the Sitatunga. You shall go for the first game drive having taken your breakfast. You shall be able to go for game viewing and photography and later go for lunch. After lunch you shall go for the scenic and bird watching as the swamp has got a wide variety of birds. You shall later travel to Ruma park for more exploration.
Day 12: saiwa swamp to ruma
You shall start the journey to Ruma Park very early as it is a bit far from saiwa having taken your breakfast. You shall arrive in the evening and you shall take your lunch and have th first game drive where you shall see different kinds of animals like the antelopes, giraffes and many more including the birds. Your dinner and overnight shall be in the camp.
Day 13: Ruma Park to Ndere Island
You shall leave for Ndere Island having taken your breakfast very early. You shall arrive before midday and you shall go for the first game drive where you shall view birds. Ndere island is located in the Lake Victoria so shall be able to see people fishing. You shall be able to go for hiking and scenic in ndere land. The view of the Lake Victoria will be very clear from ndere island. By the end of the day you shall have viewed different kinds of animals. dinner and overnight shall be in the lodge.
Day 14: Ndere Island to Crying stone of Ilesi
You shall have the view of the Lake Victoria very early in the morning where you shall be able to view the horizon. Yu shall later leave for the crying stone of ilesi. It is a stone that looking like a crying human being due to its top having a smaller stone standing on the larger stone. Crying stone of Ilesi as turned to a worshipping point of some religions. You shall view different kinds of religions worshipping beside the stone. Dinner and overnight shall be in the lodge.
Day 15: Ndere Island to Kisumu museum
You shall leave very early having taken your breakfast to Kisumu museum. This is where you shall view and learn the different cultural activities of the people of western Kenya. It focuses also on the flora and fauna. flora which means the goddess of flower and fauna meaning relating to flowers. You shall learn about flowers and view them in Kisumu museum. Dinner and overnight shall be in the lodge.
Day 16: Kisumu museum to Nairobi
You shall have your breakfast and prepare yourself to leave for Nairobi. You shall not visit anywhere in the morning since the journey from Kisumu to Nairobi is far. You shall arrive in Nairobi during night hours and you shall be dropped where you had bee picked or at the place of your desire.
