2 Days Samburu National Reserve Safari
This 2 Days Safari in Kenya explores Samburu National Reserve which is situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Kenya. This means plenty of water, trees and shade to attract wildlife like elephant, lion, giraffe and zebra from the surrounding savannah plains. Leopards are also regularly spotted. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Masai.
Samburu Reserve as a safari destination has rugged and dramatic landscape, the Ewaso Nyiro River runs along the southern boundary and is home to crocodile and hippo with the many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day.
Species of game unique to Samburu game reserve include the Besia Oryx, the long necked Gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe and the blue shanked Somali ostrich.
Day-by-Day itinerary
Day 1 Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
You will be picked up from your town hotel and we depart from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve by road Located at Kenya’s Northern Frontier District. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Ewaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa Oryx’s, Gerenuk gazelle and Greater and lesser kudu. You will arrive in time for lunch and check in at the camp/lodge, few minutes’ leisure then you proceed with the first thrilling game drive at the Reserve till sunsets then back to the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Samburu –Nairobi
Early morning game drive and then proceeds to the Lodge or camp for the breakfast and drive back to Nairobi. Arriving in Nairobi early afternoon. This is where the safari ends.
