Description

Samburu National Reserve which is about 345km from Nairobi. One will get a chance to ride a Carmel, visit the Samburu people, discover the singing wells and discover one of the rare species i.e. beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra  Somali ostrich among others. Shaba National Reserve, a breath taking scenery in the arid grasslands and sparse woodlands set against the backdrops of Shaba hills.Lake Baringo is a fresh-water lake. The lake is popularly known for the great numbers of hippos, crocodiles and birds. The activities done are bird watching, skiing surfing, fishing and wildlife watching.Lake Bogoria is an alkaline lake that lies in a volcanic region. Has the greatest number of lesser flamingos, over 200 geysers and bird species, see ostriches walking gracefully on the green lawns, greater kudu, dikdik, jackals, cheetah, zebras

Day: 1 Airport to Nairobi

On arrival, you will be met by our tour guide: greetings and then a short briefing about the safari is done. You will be transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. You will check-in in your hotel and freshen up later on have a city tour.Before sunset, we shall return to the hotel for dinner and the overnight stay.

Day: 2 Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, we shall depart for Samburu National Reserve. It is situated within the Rift Valley thus 350km from Nairobi. We shall drive north, past the coffee plantations via the rich agricultural area in Mt. Kenya. We shall get a chance to cross the equator before arriving at Nanyuki town where we shall have our lunch. Proceed to the reserve that is on the banks of River Ewaso Nyiro.Before sunset, we shall return to our camp for dinner and the overnight stay.

Day: 3 Discover Samburu National Reserve

The day kicks off with an early and afternoon games drive after breakfast. We shall try and capture some of the animals not seen before during the previous drive.  The reserve gives one peace-of mind. In the afternoon, we shall have a couple of activities to do at an extra cost i.e. riding a camel, discovering the rare species, discover the singing wells as well as mingling with the Samburu people. Before sunset, we shall return to our camp for dinner and the overnight stay.

Day: 4 Samburu National Reserve to Shaba National Reserve

After breakfast, we shall depart for Shaba National Reserve, a breath taking scenery in the arid grasslands and sparse woodlands set against the backdrops of Shaba hills. The waters from the Ewaso Nyiro River enriches the soil with moisture to nurture vegetation upon which animals graze i.e. reticulated giraffe, the Gravy’s zebra, gerenuk, beisa oryx and a host of the big five animals. Arrive, at the reserve in time for lunch and prepare for the evening games drive and return to our camp for dinner and the overnight stay.

Day: 5 Shaba National Reserves to Lake Baringo 

After breakfast, we shall have a games drive en-route to Lake Baringo. It is a haven for birders and a habitat for many species of animals i.e. hippos, crocodiles, mammals, amphibians and reptiles and a lot of flock in the shallow waters feeding on algae. In the afternoon after lunch, we shall visit the Ol lokwe Island which has natural hot springs and engage ourselves with optional activities i.e. fishing and skiing surface. Before the sun sets, we shall return to our camp for dinner and the overnight stay.

Day: 6 Lake Baringo to Lake Bogoria

We shall depart after breakfast and upon arrival we shall have games drive en-route to our camp, lunch is served followed by a few hours of leisure. Later proceed for an evening games drive. Lake Bogoria is one of the world’s greatest lakes with flamingos, hot geysers and hot springs along the shores. Animals in the park are the greater kudu, zebra, buffalo, cheetah, baboon, dikdik, spotted hyenas and impalas.Return to the lodge for diner and overnight stay.

Day: 7 Lake Bogoria to Nairobi

After a heavy breakfast, we shall have a morning games drive en-route to Nairobi, having a couple of stopovers to get some refreshments and to re-fuel the vehicle as well as to get some souvenirs. Arrive in Nairobi for the farewell party and afterwards you will be transferred to the airport for your departure or to a hotel in Nairobi.
